Capt Smit Machchhar has been hailed as a hero by a friend after being attacked by another pilot aboard a Flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv.
The incident took place on the aircraft while it was travelling towards the Israeli city. The available account identifies Machchhar as an Indian pilot, but does not provide further details about the circumstances of the attack, the other pilot involved or any injuries.
A friend said Machchhar had shown courage and described him as an example to others. The friend’s comments focused on the pilot’s conduct during the incident and the impact it had on those who know him.
No further information is available in the supplied material about the flight’s operation, any action taken after the incident or whether an investigation is under way.
