Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has said she would prefer another election to reaching a deal with Reform UK, setting out a firm position on any potential agreement between the two parties.
Badenoch also pledged to reduce the cost of hiring people aged between 21 and 24. The proposal was presented alongside her comments on the Conservatives’ approach to Reform UK.
No further details were provided on how the employment costs would be reduced, or on the circumstances in which Badenoch made the comments. Her remarks indicate that the Conservative leadership does not currently favour a deal with Reform UK, even if that meant facing another election.
The latest position is that Badenoch has ruled out prioritising an agreement with Reform UK and has linked her party’s wider agenda to measures intended to make it cheaper to employ younger adults.
