Downing Street has said UK support for the Falkland Islands remains “unwavering” after Argentina’s president Javier Milei commented on his country’s claim to the British overseas territory.
The statement from No 10 followed remarks by Mr Milei in which he said the “winds of change” favoured Argentina’s position over the islands.
The Falkland Islands are a British overseas territory, while Argentina maintains a claim over them. Mr Milei’s comments have placed the issue back in public focus, prompting a response from the UK Government.
